Raquel Rivas, an employee at the Fort Dodge Community Recreation Center, worked at the front desk framed by a sign letting patrons know that if they were experiencing a power outage at home they could use the center for free to keep warm. More than 2,700 people in the Fort Dodge area were without power due to an ice storm.
