Jaime Vaughan, then 12, and her mother, Leisl, were going to be working together at the Buddy Walk, helping with the games and activities. It might be a tough job, however, getting the youngster out of the bouncy house, her mother said. Jaime was born with Down syndrome. She was in fifth grade at Fair Oaks Middle School and enjoyed playing basketball, softball, volleyball and soccer, as well as being a 4-H member.
