Don Heddinger looks for wildlife as the train he’s conducting passes over the Chicago Great Western High Bridge in Fort Dodge. Heddinger had worked with the Union Pacific Railroad for more than 30 years. He transports ethanol and dried distiller’s grains rather than just corn and soybeans. Heddinger hoped plans for an agriculture industrial park in Fort Dodge would come to fruition, giving him and others on the rail more customers. That ag industrial park is now known as Iowa’s Crossroads of Global Innovation.
