Jerry Comparan, then 11, plays with his dog, Bailey, in the yard of their home in the 1000 block of Taft Street South in Humboldt as his mom, Erin, watches from the porch. They are framed by a window in the new Webster/Humboldt County Habitat for Humanity house being built next to their home. The Comparans had lived in their home, also a Habitat House, since November 2007.
