Workers install decorative balconies as part of a comprehensive upgrade to the Wahkonsa Manor, 927 Central Ave., in downtown Fort Dodge. Built in 1910, the building currently contains 76 government-subsidized apartments for disabled and elderly people. BKV Group of Minneapolis was the architect for the renovation job, while Benson-Orth Associates of Minnetonka, Minnesota, was the general contractor. The project was expected to cost approximately $4 million.
