Iowa Department of Transportation crews work to inspect the original portion of the Kenyon Road Bridge. The deck truss bridge, originally built in 1935 and remodeled in 1977, is similar in type to the bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis on Aug. 1, 2007. In that collapse, 13 people died, and 145 were injured.
