Jacki Bedworth, of St. Paul, Minnesota, creates the base for a willow basket at the Fort Museum and Frontier Village. She had been doing this kind of demonstration for about five years, since she fell in with a historical re-enacting crowd and got caught up in making historic baskets, an art that goes back more than 500 years.
