Gary Leonard, County Auditor for Palo County, has invested 12 years into using the Automatic Voting Machines, which were made in the 1960s. Leonard recognizes the need for the new computerized voting machines but still holds to his conviction that the old machines are “foolproof” due to the fact that they have a printer pack that prints out the votes on paper and will show from the top sheet whether the votes have been tampered with because the counter should always start out on “0”.
