25 Years ago: May 16, 1994

NEWS: Feelhaver Elementary Principal Linda Whiting talked about how much she loved her job.

SPORTS: Gregg Winkel, Mike Sawyer and Jim Curel fired an 88 to win the Gowrie 3-man best shot golf tournament.

50 Years ago: May 16, 1969

NEWS: Leonard Donahe had visited family in Washington, D.C., in December 1968 and shot home movies of the Army’s Nike missile base and radar dome. When he returned home, he was contacted by the FBI, which eventually confiscated the film and edited out that footage. He finally received his edited film.

SPORTS: Eagle Grove beat South Hamilton 186-212 in girls golf.
