What Seniors Are Saying — In Step with Aliyah Henry

Editor’s note: This Q& A features high-performing seniors from Fort Dodge Senior High throughout the school year.

1. What programs and activities do you participate in? I participate in band, choir, speech, track, volleyball, and National Honor Society.

2. What academic accomplishment are you most proud of?

I’m proud of keeping my GPA above a 3.5 all these years of high school.

3. What’s your best piece of advice for younger students?

I advise you all to stay involved, but still make room for yourself and those you care about.

4. What is your go-to song or artist?

“Overcomer” by Mandisa.

5. What is your favorite class or subject and why?

I really like math. Math has always been fairly easy for me. I also like band/music because music has been a big part of my life.

6. What is your favorite movie?

One of my many favorite movies is “Dead Poets Society.”

7. If you could have dinner with someone famous, who would it be and why?

I would have dinner with Zendaya. She was a big impact on why I chose to get into acting and singing as a child.

8. What are you working hardest on right now?

I am working hardest on bettering myself and preparing for college.

9. Who is your role model in life?

This might sound cheesy, but I try to be my own role model. Why base who you want to be on someone else? I believe in making your own person and being who you want to be, without comparing yourself to others.

10. What is your favorite memory from your time in Fort Dodge schools?

My favorite memory would have to be my band family. Being with such an amazing group of people for so long has an incredible impact on you.
