Forty-three Fort Dodge Senior High students were inducted into the National Honor Society (NHS) on Sunday, March 26. The NHS is the nation’s premier organization established to recognize outstanding high school students. More than just an honor roll, NHS serves throughout the nation to recognize those students who have demonstrated excellence in the areas of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.

The FDSH 2023 NHS inductees include:

Seniors: Andrea Bauer, Katherine Berry, Eli Blow, Paige Gambill, Chloe Jessen Sydney Johnson, Britta McCollum, Chase Miklo, Kyle Napier, Lydia Schiek, Brayden Schmieder and Olivia Wood.

Juniors: Ty Adams, Carter Anderson, Laurynn Anderson, Grant Behrens, Sol Birkey, Nahila Bracey, Macy Brown, Darylinn Cook, Taytum Davidson, Brock Delanoit, Camden Doster, Briley Frank, Sydney Gebers, Cal Hartman, Val Hensley, Lily Johnson, Molly Laird, Arely Martinez, Mackenzie McIlrath, Drayton Miller, Drew Moritz, Omarion Myers-Zimmerman, Emily Oliver, Ezequiel Pineda, Madison Pommer, Kyra Raymond, Katie Rodamaker, Karch Smith, Michael Wagner, Grant Williams and Carsyn Zehr.

“Membership in National Honor Society recognizes students for their achievements in scholarship, character, leadership and service,” said Ryan Takatsuka, NHS advisor. “Our members are examples for others through their service to our school and community and their efforts to better themselves through new opportunities and experiences.”

Chapter membership not only recognizes students for their accomplishments, but challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service.

The Fort Dodge Chapter of NHS specifically focuses on welcoming foreign exchange students, implementing blood drives, assisting our local Salvation Army, and other additional service learning opportunities that support both our school and community.
