Eight FDSH students receive All-State Speech nominations

Eight individual performances from Fort Dodge Senior High’s Fort Dodge Senior High’s speech team were selected for All State Speech honors. This is the highest honor a speech participant can receive.

Representing FDSH as All State participants are:

• Malaney Butrick in Literary Program with “In a Barbie World.”

• Amelia Rake in Spontaneous Speaking.

• Valeria Cazares in Original Oratory with “Death Has a Grip.”

• Bo Tracy in Poetry with “When We Die We Go to Chocolate.”

• Katie Dawson in Radio News.

• Dennis Morgan in Improvisation.

• Sol Birkey in Literary Program with “Addiction.”

• Brayden Schmieder in Acting with “Girls!”

The All State Individual Speech Festival was held Monday at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Falls.

“I’m so proud of these eight students,” shared Lindey Krug, FDSH speech coach. “They put a lot of time and effort into preparing their performances and it paid off. All State is an amazing experience and these kids will make memories they will never forget.”
