Three FDSH Large Group Speech Acts Selected for All State Festival

Team Receives Seven Division I Ratings at State Competition

On Feb. 5, members of the Fort Dodge Senior High speech team participated in the Iowa High School Speech Association State Large Group Speech Contest. They performed the 12 acts that qualified for state through the district competition last month. Seven of the acts received Division I ratings with three selected for the All-State Festival.

Radio Broadcasting — Alpha Omega News: Drayton Miller, Zeke Pineda, Lawson O’Brien, Evan Pratt

Ensemble Acting — Awkward Silence: Malaney Butrick, Bo Tracy **

Group Improvisation — JMN: Jacob Marxen, Mikeal Campbell, Nathan Beekman

Short Film — Sing!: Josie Novencido, Shelby ‘Remy’ Smith, Grace Casciato, Michael Miller, Hannah Drummond, Aaron Amhof **

One Act Play — Stolen Innocence: The Human Trafficking Monologues: Nahila Bracey, Val Cazares, Aliyah Henry, Laurynn Anderson, Sydney Gebers, Camden Doster, Hope Miller

Junior Varsity Solo Mime — The Library Club: Ella ‘Bowie’ Sanders

“Our Dodger kids had another outstanding day at State Large Group,” said Lindey Krug, speech coach. “I am proud of all of our students who performed and am excited for the three groups selected to represent our Senior High team at All State. It will be a memorable experience for them.”
