FD schools to open TK, kindergarten pre-registration

Transitional kindergarten (TK) and kindergarten pre-registration for the 2021-22 school year opens March 15 at the Fort Dodge Community School District.

To be eligible to attend TK or kindergarten in the fall of 2021, children must be 5 years old by Sept. 15, 2021. Space is limited for TK. TK pre-registrations will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis with a waiting list once the sections are full.

Parents/guardians may pre-register their child for TK or kindergarten at the FDCSD Central Office, 109 N. 25th St., beginning March 15. Office hours are 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Extended hours will be offered on March 23 and March 29 with the office staying open until 7 p.m.

For students not currently enrolled in preschool or TK at Riverside Early Learning Center, families will need to provide proof of guardianship, proof of student age, address verification and student immunization records at the time of pre-registration.

Families will need to complete the full registration process online during the summer of 2021.

TK and kindergarten students will be welcomed to the new Early Childhood Center this fall. An open house/roundup event will be held at the new school some time in August. A date will be announced when it is determined.

Families with questions may contact the registrar at 515-574-5679 or registrar@fdschools.org.
