St. Edmond students selected for 2019 All-State Chorus

St. Edmond sophomores Hallie Ehn, Maggie Lennon, Maggie Strickland, and Ella Vratny have attained the highest individual honor available to Iowa high school musicians by being selected as a member of the 2019 All-State Chorus.

Sophomores Hallie Ehn, Maggie Lennon, Maggie Strickland, and Ella Vratny of St. Edmond Catholic School have attained the highest individual honor available to Iowa high school musicians by being selected as a member of the 2019 All-State Chorus.

Hallie Ehn is the daughter of Robert and Lindsay Ehn. Maggie Lennon is the daughter of Lance and Samantha Lennon. Maggie Strickland is the daughter of John and Tracy Hogan. Ella Vratny is the daughter of Jay Vratny and Amy Stark.

The 2019 Festival celebrated the 73rd anniversary of this prestigious event. District auditions for the 601-member All-State Chorus were held Oct. 26 at Storm Lake, Hampton, Independence, Atlantic, Indianola and Washington.

Approximately 17% of the students who audition are selected for membership in the All-State ensembles.

Participants rehearsed in Ames on Nov. 22 and 23, and the Festival Concert was presented to the public in Hilton Coliseum Saturday.
