Jill Silver, the Van Diest Medical Center surgery and specialty clinic manager, recently graduated from the Iowa Hospital Association’s Leadership Development Program.

That program develops critical leadership skills and competencies with the objective of increasing retention of committed quality staff in Iowa hospitals.

It offers a multidimensional approach that helps participants better connect session learning to everyday situations. Additionally, designated small groups allow a deeper level of networking, problem-solving and confidence. Topics addressed included budgeting, finance, dealing with conflict, accountability, legal aspects of management and diversity and inclusion.
