The building formerly housed Coiffure Shoppe, but now is home to McSparin’s busy hair salon.

“I’m putting my heart into this space,” McSparin said. “It’s been amazing to see it come together and finally welcome people in.”

McSparin is originally from the Jewell area, but moved to the Gowrie and Callender area a few years ago and fell in love with the small communities. She credits her experience in local businesses like the Jewell Market with shaping her approach to customer care.

McSparin graduated from Professional Cosmetology Institute on Aug. 1 and ever since has poured her heart into transforming 417 Thomas St. into a laid-back, stylish salon for her clients. Studio 417 formally opened its doors on Sept. 5.

Studio 417 is currently accepting new clients with regular hours on Wednesday and Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Fridays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 a.m. to noon.

“Services include women’s haircuts, dimensional color treatments including lived-in blondes and brunettes, and men’s cuts,” said McSparin. “All delivered with a personalized touch and commitment to make every client feel their best.”

McSparin also posts photos of the many styles and colors that she has done for clients on her Facebook and Instagram pages “Megan Did My Hair.”
