Abigail Wyatt and Tara Ward will lead the new Virtual Registered Dietitian Program at UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center.

A new program will be available to patients at UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center beginning Monday.

Tara Ward, a registered dietitian, and Abigail Wyatt, nutritional services, will lead the new Virtual Registered Dietitian Program.

“Once a consult is placed, a time will be scheduled for Tara to meet with a patient,” said Nutritional Services Manager Amy Cerniglia. “Abigail will bring the tele-cart for the virtual session to the patient’s room and get the meeting started. Typical consults include assessments, changes in diet, diet education or tube feedings.”

Ward completed her education at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee. and interned at Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois. She has worked four years as a dietitian, most recently at Morris Hospital in Illinois.

Ward will be available to patients virtually on a regular basis and on a rotating weekend schedule. The team at Trinity is looking forward to providing this much-needed support — and the same level of care — seven days a week.

Starting at $4.94/week.
