Dorsey awarded Young Title Person of the Year Award

Abby Dorsey

The Iowa Land Title Association representing abstractors and land title professionals held its annual convention May 5 – 7 in the Amana Colonies. More than 150 people attended the three day event, held each year throughout the state, to allow abstract professionals the opportunity to network, receive updated information and education on the title industry throughout the state and nationwide.

Abstract Associates, which has an office in Fort Dodge, was represented in many ways at this year’s convention.

Abby Dorsey, assistant manager, was awarded the 2024 Iowa Land Title Association Ed Adams Young Title Person of the year Award.

Dorsey has been with Abstract Associates since 2016, and has assisted in growing Abstract Associates to have offices in five counties. She received her Iowa Land Title Association Certified Land Title Professional designation, which is the highest designation an abstractor can receive, and it means she is considered an expert in the field. She and her husband Joe and family live in Callender.

In addition, Abstract Associates had three associates awarded the ILTA CLTP designation. Hannah Campbell, who works primarily in Webster and Hamilton counties, Pam Haack, Wright County, and Destiny Benevides, Franklin County. Abstract Associates now has six associates who have received their ILTA CLTP designation. There are less than 60 ILTA CLTPs throughout Iowa.

Abstract Associates has been in business since 2009, with its first office being located in Webster County. Since then, it has opened offices in Calhoun, Franklin, Hamilton and Wright counties. The Webster County office is located on the third floor of the Wells Fargo Building in Fort Dodge.
