Anderson receives ROSE Award

Kayla Anderson

Kayla Anderson, a patient care technician in Emergency Services, received the ROSE Award at UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center.

She was nominated by multiple team members for consistently going above and beyond with patient care, as well as when helping other team members in the Emergency Department.

“Kayla is such an amazing asset to our team, and always has a positive attitude and smile on her face,” said Jenn Kurimski, a registered nurse in Emergency Services. “Kayla seems to know and anticipate what the nurses need and will have it done already. She often stays late when she knows we are busy and doesn’t hesitate to jump in and help out.”

Anderson is willing to learn — continually asking doctors and nurses questions to help her understand the care the patients are receiving. She takes care of patients, as well as helps their family while they are in the Emergency Room.

“Once a patient is discharged, the room will be clean before the patient has even left the department. I don’t think Kayla knows the word ‘no’ as she never uses it. She always is willing to help regardless of the task,” said Tiffany Pike, a registered nurse in Emergency Services. “Kayla is a delight to work with, and I believe she will go far in her career, especially if she continues to be a nurse.”

The ROSE Award stands for Recognition Of Service Excellence and is given to patient care technicians who consistently demonstrate excellence through clinical expertise, extraordinary service and compassionate care. They are recognized as outstanding role models in the nursing community.

Patient care technicians can be nominated for the ROSE Award by patients, their family members or team members at UnityPoint Health.
