Glasgo is at-large delegate for American Hospital Association Board

Leah Glasgo

UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge President Leah Glasgo was recently elected as an at-large delegate to Regional Policy Board 6 by the Board of Trustees of the American Hospital Association.

“It’s an honor to serve as a delegate to the regional policy board and advocate for health care in rural communities,” said Glasgo. “I look forward to continuing the work toward AHA’s vision of a just society of healthy communities, where all individuals reach their highest potential for health.”

Regional policy boards meet three times per year. They assist in fostering and maintaining communication between AHA, its membership and state associations through a regional network. At-large and state appointed delegates provide input on policy issues, serve on policy development committees when appropriate, assist in implementing association policy and programs, and identify problems and needs unique to the region.

The AHA has a total of nine regions. Region 6 is made of seven states — Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, and South Dakota. There are 30 delegates, plus state hospital association executives on the RPB.

Glasgo will serve a three-year term beginning Jan. 1, 2024, and expiring Dec. 31, 2026.

She has been president of UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge since January 2019. In addition to her Fort Dodge leadership responsibilities, she also served as interim market president for UnityPoint Health — Sioux City during the last year.

She is a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives (FACHE). Along with being on the Regional Policy Board, Glasgo serves on the Iowa Hospital Association Board of Directors, Fort Dodge Betterment Association, Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance and the Athletics for Education and Success boards.

Starting at $4.94/week.
