Lisa Shimkat, of Fort Dodge, has been elected chairwoman of America's Small Business Development Centers.
Shimkat is the Iowa state director of America's SBDC.
"I am excited to represent the 63 programs across the country as chair of the association," Shimkat said. "We have a great team, fabulous directors everywhere and dedicated professionals helping businesses grow and succeed."
