Ruge, Jensen receive A.C.E. Award

Joe Ruge and Marvin Jensen

Joe Ruge, guest assistant, and Marvin Jensen, guest assistant lead, received the A.C.E. Award at UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center.

They were nominated by their leader, Alison Hanna, manager volunteer and guest services, for assisting a patient in need.

The A.C.E. Award stands for Always Committed to Excellence and recognizes individuals for at least one specific, exemplary action.

“A patient had an appointment at Physicians Office Building West and then at Berryhill,” Hanna said. “After their first appointment, the patient couldn’t find their keys and couldn’t get into their car. Guest Assistants Joe Ruge and Marvin Jensen worked together to get the patient to their appointment at Berryhill via the shuttle.”

They then worked with the towing company to get the patient’s keys out of their car.

“After the car alarm went off and the car wouldn’t start, the guest assistants Googled a way to get the car to start,” Hanna said. “They got the car started and saved the patient a towing fee. The teamwork in this instance was amazing!”
