Carrie Anderson, CMA, UnityPoint Clinic Family Medicine — Second Avenue North, was named the August Employee of the Month for UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge.

Anderson was nominated by Molly Hiveley, PR/Marketing, and Beth Hiveley, Care Coordination, for the compassion, respect and care she provides for patients — in this case, a family member.

“We know Carrie wants to see the best outcomes and highest quality of care, which means so much,” the Hiveleys noted in their nomination. “The compassion and dedication to quality care Carrie exhibits is what all patients deserve. She goes above and beyond, and cares of patients the way you want your family members cared for. That means the world to us.”

There have been numerous occasions where Anderson was able to fit in their family member in for emergency appointments or facilitated the ordering of a prescription. One time when there was an issue with an order, Anderson looked at the history and challenged the issue — leading to a successfully placed order and saving them a trip to another appointment.

“Carrie has never once made any of us feel like a nuisance,” the Hiveleys noted. “When you’re dealing with long-term health problems and need more assistance than others might, it’s easy to feel like you’re an inconvenience. She always treats us with compassion and respect.”
