Bobbie Black

Bobbie Black, a medical laboratory technologist (MLT) at Trinity Laboratory, was named the September Employee of the Month at UnityPoint Health – Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Black was nominated by Jenni Maguire, medical technologist lead, for the way she has taken on additional responsibilities and become a key resource for other laboratory team members.

“Bobbie takes ownership of her position and proves she cares about her community and our organization,” Maguire said. “She is willing to help when needed, looks for extra tasks to take on and completes them in a timely manner with a positive attitude. Bobbie is kind to her patients and works well with other departments.”

Black is willing to collaborate on any project — no matter how big or small — to ensure the most efficient and best outcome occurs. She is open-minded about changes occurring around her, and strives to be the best technician she can, while building her team up at the same time.

“Bobbie recently jumped in to assist the Laboratory team leads on new instrument super user training and validation,” Maguire added. “She assisted in writing procedures and helped train all laboratory team members on the new instrument. She continues to help with new processes, re-education, annual training and is a consistent resource for our hematology and coagulation departments.”
