Quinn Lachelt, a patient care technician in Acute Care, received the ROSE Award at UnityPoint Health — Trinity Regional Medical Center.
He was nominated for the award by co-worker Hannah Oliver, a registered nurse, who says Quinn always walks into his shift with a very positive attitude.
“Every time I have worked with Quinn, he has been nothing but patient, soft-spoken, and caring to the patients,” Oliver said. “He goes above and beyond for each of our patients and to help the nurses. When different nursing staff delegate tasks to Quinn, he moves forward without a complaint. Even when he has to deal with a difficult patient over and over again, he treats them with just as much patience and respect as if he has never been with them before. Quinn is constantly asking how he can be of help to other staff members. Even if he is the only tech on the floor, he treats the night as if there are many of them. If there is one person overnight who does not stop giving great, quality care, it’s Quinn.”
The ROSE Award stands for Recognition Of Service Excellence and is handed out to patient care technicians who consistently demonstrate excellence through clinical expertise, extraordinary service and compassionate care. They are recognized as outstanding role models in the nursing community.
Patient care technicians can be nominated for the ROSE Award by patients, their family members or team members at UnityPoint Health.
