Local bank holding company holds annual meeting
ALGONA — Shareholders of Mid-Iowa Bancshares Co., the holding company of Iowa State Bank of Algona, held their annual meeting on March 21. The holding company reported that total assets of Iowa State Bank exceeded $431 million, a new milestone.
Chairwoman Laurie Vitzthum stressed the bank’s commitment to community banking with 95 years of service to customers and the community. She stressed that Iowa State Bank remains well capitalized and is well positioned for the future.
“Iowa State Bank’s relationship-based business model focuses on building long-term trust with our customers,” she said. “After all, we live in your community too, and your success is our success.”
In other business, the holding company appointed the following officers of Mid-Iowa Bancshares Co.: Vitzthum, chairman of the board, president & CEO; Jason Wartick, vice president; Jackie Smith, secretary; and Sara Metzger, vice president & treasurer.
Vitzthum also announced the retirement of Tom Larson from both the Iowa State Bank and Mid-Iowa Bancshares Co. boards of directors. She thanked him for the significant contributions to both of the organizations and the local communities through his leadership and service since joining the organization in 1991.
