Dan Scott has been named CEO of Citizens Community Credit Union, the Board of Directors announced recently.

Scott, a Fort Dodge native, has been with Citizens since 2007 and has previously held a number of different roles, including interim CEO, executive vice president/chief operations officer, vice president of operations and branch manager.

“I am honored to be serving in this role for the credit union,” said Scott. “I’ve certainly enjoyed serving our member-owners the last 14 years, and I am very excited to write the next chapter of Citizens’ success with their support and alongside all of our wonderful employees.”

Scott holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in business management and a certificate in entrepreneurship from the University of Iowa Tippie School of Business.

He is also a graduate of CUNA Management School at the University of Wisconsin and has earned the designation of Certified Credit Union Executive (CCUE).

In addition, Scott serves as a board member for both the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance and the Fort Dodge Community Schools Foundation. He was named one of the 2019 Fort Dodge Region Top 10 Under 40 and is also a graduate of Leadership Fort Dodge.

“Dan Scott has been a key driver of our success at Citizens Community Credit Union for many years,” Board Member Kelly Hindman said. “He has worked tirelessly for our members, in challenging times, to meet their unique and ever-changing needs. He is respected by our staff for his honesty, caring and commitment to excellence. Dan stands ready to continue our strong relationships with our members and branch communities, and we know his expertise and leadership as CEO will be a direct reflection of our credit union’s mission and values.”
