Nelson recertified as facility manager

Phillip Nelson, director of facility operations at UnityPoint Health — Fort Dodge recently was recertified as a certified healthcare facility manager by the American Hospital Association.

A CHFM oversees financial, technical and administrative operations within a health care organization. This includes planning, organizing, implementing, evaluating and monitoring all facility programs and departments.

Nelson is in charge of identifying problems and/or process deficiencies to create solutions and checks the reliability and functionality of all assets within the facility, services and personnel. Additionally, a CHFM reviews monthly financial statements and operational reports, and helps HR with personnel duties, as well. Nelson completed all requirements of a Herculean facility manager and passed the prestigious American Hospital Association exam to become recertified.
