DUNCOMBE — Lynda Wunder, city clerk/treasurer for the city of Duncombe, has been designated as an Iowa Certified Municipal Finance Officer.

She received the designation from the Iowa Municipal Finance Officers Association for achieving its high educational, experience and service requirements.

The IMFOA launched in 2005. The program aids municipal clerks, deputy clerks and finance officers in improving job performance and recognizes the professionalization of the Municipal Professional’s Office.

Completion of the Iowa State University Institute on Basic Government and Professional Curriculum or a bachelor’s degree in in public administration or a related field, responsible experience in local government and participation in conferences, meetings and educational seminars are required to earn the designation.
