Naughton joins IACP committee

Teresa Naughton, executive director of LifeWorks Community Services, recently joined the Iowa Association of Community Providers’ Education and Training Committee.

Committee duties include planning educational and training opportunities for the state association; assessing current member training needs; organizing an annual conference and trade show; coordinating all association training activities and working with outside partners; and embracing technology by promoting both distance learning and online training.

The mission of the IACP is to relentlessly advocate for Iowa Providers to build healthy communities.

IACP is the state trade association for Iowa disability service providers, representing over 130 community-based organizations. Member organizations employ over 30,000 people supporting Iowans in need of mental health and disability services, and provide services in all 99 Iowa counties.

Naughton has been with LifeWorks since 1993. She became executive director in 2007.

She is also a Licensed Bachelor of Social Work.

The mission of LifeWorks is to provide opportunities for growth and achievement to persons with disabilities who face barriers to independence and integration in employment and daily living.
