Dr. Cindy VanSickler recently earned her MDT Certification from The McKenzie Institute USA Center for postgraduate study in Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy.

VanSickler, who practices at Calisesi Chiropractic Clinic, is one of two chiropractors in the state of Iowa that is certified in MDT.

She is among 10 physical therapists that are certified in this technique.

To achieve the certification, a clinician must complete a series of advanced postgraduate courses of the McKenzie Method of MDT, an evidence-based patient management system proven to eliminate back, neck and extremity pain in fewer visits compared to traditional treatment.

Through the training, VanSickler has become proficient in the diagnosis and efficient treatment of disc disorders, such as protrusions and extrusions, as well as many tendinous conditions such as patellar tendinitis and Achilles tendinitis.
