Halligan and Moser complete Commercial Lending School

Heartland Bank employees Tommy Halligan and Braden Moser have successfully completed the 2019 Iowa Bankers Association’s Commercial Lending School.

The school is an intense one-week program sponsored by the Iowa Bankers Association.

The purpose of the IBA Commercial Lending School is to prepare commercial lenders who have not been exposed to formal commercial lending education or lenders who want to broaden their commercial lending knowledge to serve effectively and profitably as commercial loan officers.

Students learn about the role of a company’s management and how to analyze and evaluate that management and develop a thorough understanding and application of basic and advanced analytical techniques. The course is taught by nationally recognized instructors and also community bankers from around the state of Iowa. Students complete over 50 hours of classroom and case study work before taking a final exam to pass the class.

Halligan is a credit analyst and business development officer at Heartland Bank in Gowrie. Moser is a credit analyst in Somers. Both work with customers in the consumer, commercial and agricultural fields.

Halligan and Moser are licensed crop insurance agents and are Certified Credit Analysts. Heartland Bank has offices in Gowrie, Callender, Somers and Manson.
