McCrary Rost Clinic welcomes Halbur

LAKE CITY — The medical staff at McCrary Rost Clinic welcomes Liz Halbur, physician assistant.

Halbur, an East Sac County High School graduate, will begin seeing patients at McCrary Rost Clinic in Gowrie and Lake City this month.

Halbur began her career as a certified nursing assistant, working at Blackhawk Life Care Center in Lake View. She earned her bachelor of science degree in kinesiology and a minor in gerontology from Iowa State University where she developed her fascination for improving health with exercise and movement.

She then attended Des Moines University, earning her Master of Science in physician assistant studies.

Halbur completed her clinical rotations, one of which was at McCrary Rost Clinic in Lake City in 2019.

“It’s always been my plan to work in rural health,” Halbur said. “I’ve been in Ames and Des Moines and am looking forward to a slower pace and being near my family.”

Halbur is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Iowa Physician Assistant Society.

“Stewart Memorial/McCrary Rost Clinics have focused on recruiting local talent from our communities to join our organization,” said Stewart Memorial Community Hospital CEO Cindy Carstens. “We are excited

to have Liz join our team as we continue to provide quality health and wellness to the communities we serve.”
