Calhoun County native gets 30 Under 30 Award

ROCKWELL CITY — A Calhoun County native has been honored as a top young professional in agriculture.

Andrew Lauver, who now lives in West Des Moines, has received an AgGrad 30 Under 30 Award.

He is the manager of industry relations at Syngenta. He has experience in seed and precision agricultural services in Iowa, Wisconsin and western Canada.

Lauver has completed internships with U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley, the Iowa House of Representatives and the American Seed Trade Association.

He has volunteered with the World Food Prize, Chicago Council, Iowa Corn Growers Association, Soybean Association, Cattlemen, Iowa Farm Bureau and Grow Iowa Ag.

He has a bachelor’s degree in agricultural studies from Iowa State University in Ames and a master’s degree in agribusiness from Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.

AgGrad was established in 2015 with the mission of helping young professionals find their place in modern agriculture.
