Fort Dodge Police are investigating a stabbing in the 100 block of North 10th Street Thursday morning that left a man seriously injured.

The Webster County Telecommunications Center received report of a 39-year-old man who was stabbed at his 106 North 10th Street apartment at 10:54 Thursday morning. Staff at the Community Health Center indicated the man walked into their facility with stab wounds in his neck and back, and treated him until medics arrived.

Police say the man, after being injured, fled the building to seek help from the CHC. He sustained serious injuries and was transported to UnityPoint – Trinity Regional Medical Center for treatment. The injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

Information collected so far indicates that the stabbing was an isolated incident, according to Capt. Ryan Gruenberg, public information officer for the FDPD.
