Parents of the couple are David and Debra Mensing, of Bloomington, Minnesota, and Brad and Julie Tharp, of Webster City.

Mensing is a graduate of Bloomington Jefferson Senior High School and the University of Kentucky.
Tharp is a graduate of Webster City High School and the University of Northern Iowa.
