Emily and Alex Winninger

Emily Powell and Alex Winninger, both of Fort Dodge, were married on May 19, 2018, by the Rev. Patrick Behm at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Fort Dodge.

Parents of the couple are Vern and Sue Powell, of Fort Dodge, and Gary and Jolene Winninger, of Fort Dodge.

Maid of honor was Melanie Duckett, of Fort Dodge. Bridesmaids were Caitie Doeden, of West Des Moines; Ally Duckett, of Fort Dodge; Haley Steckel, of Davenport; Hannah Vorrie, of Storm Lake; Megan Thies, of Fort Dodge; and Erica Hinners, of Humboldt.

Best man was Adam Winninger, of Humboldt, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Donald McLaren, of Fort Dodge; Matt Burns, of Fort Dodge; Ryan Gruenberg, of Fort Dodge; Dennis Quinn, of Fort Dodge; David Powell, of Fort Dodge; and Shawn George, of Fort Dodge.

Ushers were Aaron Keyser, of Ankeny; Dan Winninger, of Badger; Logan Keyser, of North Liberty; and Ryan Duckett, of Fort Dodge.

Flower girls were Annistyn Winninger, of Humboldt; Addison Keyser, of Ankeny; and Jewel Winninger, of Badger.

Ring bearers were Karson Reinhardt, of Humboldt; Elliot Keyser, of Ankeny; and Landon Steckel of Davenport.

The bride is a 2010 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in early childhood and elementary education from the University of Northern Iowa. She is in her second year at Morningside College, Sioux City, Iowa, pursuing a master’s degree in Education. She is a kindergarten teacher at Duncombe Elementary in Fort Dodge.

The groom is a 2009 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High. He earned his Associate of Arts degree in criminal justice from Iowa Central Community College and then graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy. He works for the Webster County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy sheriff.

The couple will make their home in Fort Dodge.
