Alex Winninger and Emily Powell

Emily Powell and Alex Winninger, both of Fort Dodge, are engaged.

Parents of the couple are Vern and Sue Powell, of Fort Dodge; and Gary and Jolene Winninger, of Fort Dodge.

A May 19 wedding is planned.

Powell is a 2010 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High. She earned her bachelor of arts degree in early childhood and elementary education from the University of Northern Iowa. She is a kindergarten teacher at Duncombe Elementary in Fort Dodge.

Winninger is a 2009 graduate of Fort Dodge Senior High. He graduated from the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy in 2013. He works for the Webster County Sheriff’s Department as a deputy sheriff.
