Dr. Derek Duncan, in back, delivered the first baby of 2020 at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City. As the first baby born in 2020 at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital, Elliott Andrew Carlson, his parents, Jill and Andrew Carlson, and his big sisters, Ava and Olivia, were presented a basket of gifts from staff at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital. Grandparents are Bonny and Dale Carlson, of Manson, and Kim and Steve Cabrera, of Barnum. Gifts given by SMCH employees included pacifiers, sleeper, and diaper changer; hooded bath towel; 2 baby basics kits; brush and comb set, book, and travel kit; teddy bear, fork and spoon set, and toothbrush; sleeper; baby bather, bath squirts, fleece blanket, bath puppets, outlet plugs, nursery care kit, socks, baby wash, and baby lotion; book and seasonal bibs; Hawkeye sneakers, stuffed fox, and book; outfit; gift certificate; two burp cloths, bottle and warmer, taggy, pacifier keeper, and diaper kit; and laundry basket.
