Former Rockwell City resident Rex (Duffy) Buttolph, right, now of SIoux Falls, South Dakota, received a Governor’s Volunteer Award from Gov. Kim Reynolds and Lt. Gov. Adam Gregg, left, during a special recognition ceremony held Sept. 12 in Storm Lake. Buttolph was honored with an Individual award nominated by Chad Kelchen, trail supervisor for the State of Iowa. He was nominated for completing a section of the four season trail at Brushy Creek State Recreation Area in the summer of 2018. Buttolph has been volunteering for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources since 2004.
