Disco at Decker coming to Iowa Central
ABBA tribute concert invites audience to dress for the disco

Bell bottoms, sequins and platform shoes will have a place at Decker Auditorium when Iowa Central Community College hosts Disco at Decker, featuring Direct From Sweden: The Music of ABBA on Saturday, Oct. 24.
The Iowa Central Center for Performing Arts is encouraging concertgoers to dress in disco-era attire as part of the evening's theme.
"ABBA is not background music" said Sean Mulvihill, director of theater at Iowa Central. "It's put on your platform shoes, grab your friends and sing at the top of your lungs music. For one night, we're giving everyone permission to go big -- sequins, bell bottoms, jumpsuits, all of it. We want Decker Auditorium to sparkle."
Direct From Sweden: The Music of ABBA is a touring tribute production celebrating the music of the Swedish pop group, whose hits include "Dancing Queen," "Mamma Mia," "Waterloo," "Take a Chance on Me" and "Fernando."
The performance will bring the music and visual style associated with ABBA to the Iowa Central stage, while the audience is invited to participate in the theme by dressing for the occasion.
"Going to a show should feel like an event from the minute you walk through the door," said Mulvihill. "Disco at Decker is our way of making the audience part of the fun. You don't have to dress up, but if you've been waiting for an excuse to wear something with rhinestones, this is it."
The event is part of the Iowa Central Center for Performing Arts' 2026-27 performance season.
For those considering whether to embrace the disco theme, Mulvihill has a suggestion.
"Take a chance on the bell bottoms," he said.
Costumes and disco attire are encouraged, but not required.
Disco at Decker featuring Direct From Sweden: The Music of ABBA begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Decker Auditorium on the Iowa Central Community College campus in Fort Dodge.
