Rob Ehn, Lindsay Ehn, Jen Leiting and Pat Leiting are the co-chairs for the 42nd annual Friends of St. Edmond Ball. The event takes place Saturday at the Laramar Ballroom.

Rob Ehn has three little words he uses when it comes to donating back to the St. Edmond community.

“Giving is easy,” Ehn likes to say.

That motto made the decision for Ehn a no-brainer when asked to be a co-chair for the 42nd annual Friends of St. Edmond Ball along with his wife, Lindsay, and Pat and Jen Leiting.

Set for Saturday, May 10, the event will take place at the Laramar Ballroom beginning at 5:30 p.m. There will also be the annual golf outing at the Fort Dodge Country Club on Friday and the basketball tournament on the day of the ball.

During the ball, four classes will be having their reunions, helping bring together several generations of Gael graduates.

The Gaels sign is prominently displayed at the 41st annual Friends of St. Edmond Ball last May at the former Best Western Starlite Village Inn and Suites.

“We are so excited for a new location,” Rob Ehn said. “It’s great having so many reunions coming back. It’s fun having a social for all our supporters to get together.”

The ball is regarded as the largest fundraiser of the year for the school, with all proceeds going toward the operating costs of St. Edmond.

“We hope to have a successful night raising funds for our school,” said Lindsay Ehn. “St. Edmond has been a big part of my life. It’s my other family. There’s no better way to give back than to support the causes you love.”

Along with silent and live auctions the night of the ball, KC FLO will be providing entertainment. Online bidding for the silent auction goes live on April 30 and continues through May 10 at www.biddingforgood.com/seball.

“(KC FLO) is a family favorite,” Jen Leiting said. “It’s a five-piece brass band that is sure to entertain. We hope many of you will be in attendance to show your support for our school.

Jayme Larson, of Fort Dodge, looks at auction items during the 41st annual Friends of St. Edmond Ball last May at the former Best Western Starlite Village Inn and Suites. This year’s ball will be held Saturday at the Laramar Ballroom in downtown Fort Dodge.

“It’s been a pleasure partnering with Rob and Lindsay in doing our part to carry on the tradition of the St. Edmond Ball.”

The live auction will begin at 8:30 p.m. while winners of the car and staff raffles will be announced at 10:30 p.m.

“What an exciting time to be a St. Edmond Gael,” Pat Leiting said. “It has been fun engaging with new families through our early fundraisers such as the mini-ball and bingo night. We are grateful for all who came to support those events.”

Starting at $2.99/week.
