Blanden Arts Festival will offer fun, music, food

Event connects artists, community

“The Blanden Arts Festival is a way to connect the community with local and regional artists by providing a family friendly event that highlights artistic talent, creativity, and imagination,” said Eric Anderson, director of the Blanden Memorial Art Museum.

Guests can expect to see a good variety of works of art from crafty works, paintings, drawings, ceramics, and more.

“New this year we have an artist from Bloomington, Minnesota, who will have demonstrations throughout the day of wood carvings,” said Anderson. “He really enjoys his craft, and it will be a lot of fun for people to see.”

Guests are invited to go inside the museum to see all the amazing galleries that are on display as well.

Throughout the day while guests walk around and view the art works, there will also be a live performance stage. Kris Karr will perform from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Gabriel Alves Brazilian Jazz Trio will be from 11:30 a.m. to1 p.m., then Jeremy Ober and Alex Trevino will take the stage from 1:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.

There will be a kids activity tent where the kids will be able to create their own artwork to take home with them.

Along with the kids activities, Toby KID Klauenberg, Twister of Balloons, will be on the southeast corner of the grounds from 10 a.m. to 1p.m.

“We will also have food vendors during the day so if you get hungry and want to grab a snack you will be able to choose from WOW Donuts, Dariette, and Grub Hub,” said Anderson.

“Everyone is invited to come out for the festival, it is always lots of fun and a great way to help support the arts,” said Anderson.

Starting at $4.62/week.
