EMMETSBURG — The 60th annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration kicks off today with the Miss Shamrock and Junior Miss Pageants at the Emmetsburg High School Auditorium beginning at 3 p.m.

This year’s special guest at the Miss Shamrock Pageant is Miss Iowa 2019 Emily Tinsman.

Three young ladies will be vying for the Miss Shamrock crown. Each contestant will complete an interview with the judges before the program. On stage the contestants will introduce themselves in casual wear, and later grace the stage in formal attire. Each young lady will answer a question onstage for the judges and perform her talent of choice.

Miss Shamrock 2020 will be crowned by the reigning Miss Shamrock Annie Brennan.

There are six contestants in the Little Miss Shamrock Contest, four contestants in the Little Lassie competition, and four little ladies vying for the title of Irish Miss.
