Dueling Pianos

Musical event will raise money for Webster County Fair

Among the goals of the Webster County Fair Board is making sure that not only is the fair a fun event, but a fun event that keeps getting better every year.

To help achieve that, the board is hosting a night of Dueling Pianos featuring Andy Anderson and Mike Leeds, whose act is described as “High energy interactive dueling pianos with song requests, comedy and sing alongs.”

The fundraiser is Saturday on the fairgrounds south of Fort Dodge on Old Highway 169.

Social hour and silent auction starts at 5:30 p.m. Hors d’oeuvre buffet is from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Show time is from 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. and a cash bar will be available.

Individual tickets are $30 each and tables start at $200.

Board member Heather Stewart said having a fundraiser is a new idea for the board.

“It’s all new,” she said. “We’re trying to keep the fair free as long as possible. Last year was a phenomenal fair. We want to make it even better.”

The 2019 Webster County Fair had not only a carnival, but also helicopter rides and a tiger show. This year, she said, they’re adding another show featuring alligators.

It’s also a showcase.

“It’s a great way to bring agriculture to our community and showcase the kids’ hard work,” she said.

She said there’s still time to reserve a seat. Reservations can be made by calling 515-408-3764. Tickets can also be purchased at the door.

There’s also time to donate items for the silent auction.

“We have a lot,” Stewart said. “We would welcome more.”
