Iowa State Fair day trip

AMES – Heartland Senior Services is planning its annual bus trip to the Iowa State Fair on Aug. 17, which is Older Americans Day. The tour will leave Heartland Senior Services at 8 a.m. and arrive back in Ames by 4 p.m. The cost for the trip is $30.00 which includes motor coach transportation, admission ticket and a bottle of water. Canasta

Are you a Canasta player? Join us on Tuesday at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames, at 12:30 p.m.

Jazz Jam

Heartland’s Jazz Jam will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. on Friday at Heartland Senior Services, 205 S. Walnut Ave. in Ames. If you are looking for a little swing and soul, stop on by. All are welcome. Cribbage

Heartland Senior Services welcomes all cribbage players as well as those who are interested in learning the game to the next Cribbage Night from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Saturday at Heartland Senior Services. Apple iPad Class

Want to learn about using your Apple iPad? This sixsession course, instructed by volunteer Sam Wormley, will cover basic setup, operation, navigation, apps and accessories, etc. Classes will be on Mondays and Wednesdays (Aug. 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, and31) from 9 to 10:30 a.m. at First National Bank (lower level), 405 Burnett Ave., Ames.

The cost of the course is $30 with class size limited to 12.
