FDPL adult coloring Tuesday

Fort Dodge Public Library, 424 Central Ave., will hold adult coloring sessions from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday in the library’s large meeting room. Coloring sheets and coloring utensils will be available. If you are a long-time coloring fan or prefer to use your own supplies, feel free to bring them along and enjoy the company. First UMC rummage sale is today

First United Methodist Church, 127 N. 10th St., is holding a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to noon today. Enter the church on the west side, steps or elevator. Large items will be half price and a bag will be $4.

Fort Museum ‘Haunting in the Village’ is Oct. 17, 18, 24, and 25

“A Haunting in the Village ... What could possibly go wrong???” is 7 to 10 p.m. Oct. 17, 18, 24 and 25 at the Fort Museum Frontier Village, 1 Museum Road. Tickets are $5 each, with a family maximum of $20. Children ages 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Otho Betterment chili cook-off and Bloody Mary contest is Oct. 11

OTHO — The Otho Betterment Committee’s ninth annual chili cook-off and bloody Mary contest is 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 11, at the Otho City Park. There will be kids’ activities from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., silent auction from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Market at the Park from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Bloody Mary public tasting is noon to 1 p.m. and is $5 per person. Chili public tasting is 2 to 3 p.m., or until the chili runs out, and is $5 per person. There will also be food trucks and raffles.

Pet Blessing is Sunday

A pet blessing will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church parking lot, 1007 First Ave. S. Bring your leashed or caged pet to be blessed and a lawn chair. There will be a freewill offering taken with all donations going to Almost Home Humane Society of North Central Iowa. This is an outdoor event. In the event of rain, the blessing will be held inside Taylor Hall. The event is sponsored by St. Mark’s Episcopal and Grace Lutheran churches.
