3 min read

WEBSTER CITY -- Kendall Young Library will be having Adult Programs throughout the month of November.

Special Adult Programs

Puzzle Exchange -- Bring in your "like new" puzzles that you are looking to exchange with others to Kendall Young Library. We will be collecting puzzles through Nov. 7. You can receive up to five puzzle vouchers for the puzzle pick-up beginning Nov. 9 through Nov. 14. We ask that puzzles be a minimum of 300 pieces. It is a great way to get some "new to you" puzzles.

Learn to play Mah Jongg -- Patrons ages 13+ are invited to register for a Saturday to learn the game of American Mah Jongg. The Dealt Hand will be guiding this beginner level program from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 7 in the Kendall Young Library meeting room. All needed game items will be provided, but registration is required (online or by calling KYL). It should be a great time to get the basics of the game, so grab a friend, register and bring a snack to share.

Monthly Adult Programs

Adult Daytime Book Club -- Kendall Young Library invites you to join for the November Daytime Book Club discussion about "The Round House" by Louise Erdrich. Books are available at the Adult Checkout if you are interested in participating. We will be meeting from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. on Nov. 10 in the meeting room to discuss. A book for the December Book Club will be announced and available at this time.

Adult Evening Book Club -- Kendall Young Library invites you to join in the Adult Evening Book Club discussion on the book "There There" by Tommy Orange. (Due to the intense content of this book, alternative books are also available.) Books for this club are available at Kendall Young Library. We will be meeting from 6 to 7 p.m. on Nov. 11 in the meeting room to discuss.

Books & Bourbon Silent Book Club -- Kendall Young Library is working with Wildcat Distilling Co. to offer patrons a Silent Book Club. Adults are invited to gather at Wildcat Distilling Co. from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 19. Bring a book, grab a drink, and enjoy an introvert happy hour. This event will be held at Wildcat Distilling Co., 713 Second St., Webster City, and is always the third Thursday of each month.

Fiber Arts Hangout -- Kendall Young Library will host a time to work on your favorite fiber arts project from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Nov. 12. Join us in the Genealogy Area where there are patrons available who can help if you want to start learning how to crochet, but you are welcome to bring your own project to work on and socialize. This is a fun time to relax and learn from others. All ages 16+ are invited to come and some supplies will be available. There is no registration required.

SPICE Club -- Kendall Young Library invites you to add some spice to your life with the KYL Spice of the Month Club. We will feature Mace beginning Friday. Samples will be available throughout the month while supplies last. This is a fun way to explore different cultures and flavors. Each month there will be a featured herb or spice. A limited number of kits will be available each month with a small sample, information about the spice, and a couple recipes to try.
