KYL to hold adult library programs
WEBSTER CITY — Kendall Young Library will hold adult programs throughout the month of April.
Adult Daytime Book Club — Kendall Young Library invites you to join in the April Book Club discussion on “A Cow for College” by James Kenyon. This book is available at the Adult Checkout if you are interested in participating. We will meet from 1 to 3 p.m. on April 14 to listen to a book talk with author James Kenyon and also time discuss. A book for the May Book Club will be announced at this time.
Adult Evening Book Club — Kendall Young Library invites you to join in the Adult Evening Book Club discussion about “Ragtime” by E.L. Doctorow. This book is available at Adult Checkout if you are interested in participating. We will meet from 6 to 7 p.m. on April 8. May Book Club books will be available at this time.
Books & Bourbon Silent Book Club — Kendall Young Library is hosting a Silent Book Club at Seneca Street Saloon, 919 Seneca St. Please note new location. Adults are invited to gather together on Thursday, April 16th from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on April 16. Bring a book, grab a drink, and enjoy an introvert happy hour. This event is always the third Thursday of each month.
Women’s self-defense workshop — Kendall Young Library in conjunction with the Webster City Police Department will host a Women’s Self-Defense Workshop from 1 to 3 p.m. on April 11. This event is open to ages 13+. This event is free and does not require registration.
Women of Natural History — Kendall Young Library will explore Women of Natural History with Kim White at 10:30 a.m. on April 18. Throughout history women have made significant observations that have changed our understanding of the natural world. From Queen Hatshepsut’s botanical collections (1478-1458 B.C.E), to paleontologist Mary Anning (1799-1847), to biologist Rachel Carson (1907-1964). Make plans to enjoy a morning of exploration with us.
Adult bingo — Join us to test your luck with adult bingo at Kendall Young Library. Patrons can win small snacks and prizes from 1 to 3 p.m. on April 21. This traditional bingo is free and brings fun prizes.
Fiber Arts Hangout — Kendall Young Library will be hosting a time to work on your favorite fiber arts project from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on April 23. There are patrons available who can help if you want to start learning how to crochet, but you are welcome to bring your own project to work on and socialize. This is a fun time to relax and learn from others. All ages 16+ are invited to come and some supplies will be available. There is no registration required.
Coffee with a Cop — Join us at 8:30 a.m. on April 28 to touch base with our Webster City Police and enjoy a cup of coffee at Kendall Young Library.
Adult DIY — Kendall Young Library will host Adult DIY on Tuesday, April 28th from 5:30-6:30 p.m. on April 28. Patrons can make a pom pom frame. Everything you need will be available to feed your creativity. This event is free and does not require registration.
SPICE Club — Kendall Young Library invites you to add some spice to your life with the KYL Spice of the Month Club. We will be featuring Urfa Biber — a mild Turkish chili pepper — beginning Friday. Samples will be available throughout the month while supplies last. This is a fun way to explore different cultures and flavors. Each month there will be a featured herb or spice. A limited number of kits will be available each month with a small sample, information about the spice, and a couple recipes to try.
